Safety Measures During Tower Internals Installation

Q: How to take safety measures when installing tower inner parts?

A: When we work in confinement, we may send some unsafe factors, such as falling from height, high temperature heat stroke, asphyxiation, etc. In order to ensure the safety of our staff in the tower pieces, we must take the following safety measures:  

1, the staff in the tower construction must wear clean rubber-soled shoes, and shall not add weight on the tower plate, should stand on top of the beam or board; manhole and manhole cover sealing surface and the bottom of the tower orifice should be taken to protect the measures to avoid smashing and clogging; handling and installation of the inlet and outlet, to be gently take and put to prevent collision and dirty, to avoid deformation and damage. Each layer of the tower disk construction is completed must check whether there are tools and other forgotten in the tower. Tower pieces should be installed in the tower pressure test qualified and cleaned up after the installation. The staff must carry out oxygen test before entering the tower and leave the work plate in the information bag near the manhole;

2, tower attached to the ladder platform installation is completed after the installation of the tower within the pieces of the installation, installation, should be carried out in sections from the bottom up, installation of each section of the lowest layer of the tower disk, to take safety measures to ensure personal safety. In the tower filling filling material, lifting tools must be safe and reliable, the operator must be in a safe position.

3, staff work in the tower, the tower must stay outside a full-time safety officer. The safety officer is responsible for the development of site safety and technical regulations, site equipment safety operating procedures. Safeguard the safety of the tower operators, to prevent the tower personnel from heat stroke fainting and other situations. The tower operators must keep in touch with the full-time safety officer outside the tower, equipped with walkie-talkies.

4, when installing tower parts, if it is carried out in the summer heat, must do a good job of heat stroke prevention and cooling. When the personnel work in the tower to take ventilation measures, if necessary, in the upper and lower two manholes at the installation of fans to enhance air convection. 

5, the working time to avoid the high temperature before and after noon working time, reasonable arrangements in the high temperature when the operating personnel in the tower working time:

Morning working hours for 6:00 ~ 9:00 in the tower work; 9:00 ~ 11:00 operating personnel outside the tower to clean up the next step required to use the inner parts; 3:00 ~ 4:00 pm to arrange to clean up the inner parts; 4:00 ~ 7:00 in the tower work. Operators are required to leave the tower every hour to rest and breathe fresh air.
