Stainless steel rectangular saddle ring packing is a new type of high-efficiency packing developed by Norton Company in the United States. It is also called Interlocks packing or ring rectangular saddle packing in China. This packing is a metal bulk packing with excellent performance and wide use, and enjoys a high reputation internationally. Compared with plate towers, it has the advantages of large flux, high efficiency and low resistance; compared with ball rings, it has great advantages in both fluid mechanics and mass transfer performance. The shape of the metal rectangular saddle ring is between the ring and the saddle, which cleverly combines the structural characteristics of open hole annular packing and general saddle packing. Structurally, the metal rectangular saddle ring strengthens the annular ribs on the basis of the saddle shape, avoids overlap, ensures a certain strength and rigidity, punches out several small claws, enhances gas-liquid agitation, and strengthens mass transfer, thus producing unique performance. The use of metal rectangular saddle rings can increase yield, reduce energy consumption or cost, and improve separation efficiency. It is one of the best random packings today.

Stainless steel saddle ring packing is used to equip new packing towers, which are 35% lower in height and 30% lower in diameter than plate towers, or improve efficiency by 10-30% and reduce pressure loss by 20-60%. Domestic dry distillation instead of wet distillation test studies have shown that investment can be reduced by 20%. In short, the use of new ring saddles can increase yield, reduce energy consumption or cost, and improve separation efficiency.
Application of stainless steel saddle ring packing:
Stainless steel saddle ring packing is the most widely used random packing at present. It has excellent acid and heat resistance and can withstand corrosion from various inorganic acids, organic acids and organic solvents except fluoric acid. It is suitable for various high and low temperature and highly corrosive occasions. It can be used in drying towers, absorption towers, washing towers, regeneration towers, etc. in chemical, metallurgical, coal gas, oxygen production and other industries. It can also be used for atmospheric and vacuum distillation of crude oil in refineries, and can be used for medium and high pressure separation processes such as demethanization, deethaneization, and carbon three separation in ethylene plants.
