Plastic rectangular saddle ring packing is a kind of chemical packing, similar to the shape of a saddle, which is an improvement on the arc saddle ring. The main difference is that a pair of arc surfaces are changed to rectangular surfaces, and the inner and outer curvature radii are different, thus avoiding the disadvantage of easy overlapping and making the bed porosity uniform. Plastic rectangular saddle ring packing is processed by continuous extrusion. Compared with Raschig rings or arc saddle ring packings of the same material, it has a high flooding point, a low pressure drop and a low mass transfer unit height. Compared with ball rings, it has low resistance, high flux, high efficiency, good packing strength and rigidity. It is currently the most widely used random packing. It is generally made of ceramics, metals, and plastics.
Characteristics of plastic rectangular saddle rings:
The bed layer of plastic rectangular saddle ring packing has a large porosity, and the bed layer is mostly arc-shaped liquid channels. The gaps in the packing layer are more continuous than those of annular packing (especially Raschig ring packing), which can make the gas flow mainly along the arc channel when it flows upward. It reduces the resistance of gas passing through the bed layer and also reduces the radial diffusion coefficient of liquid when it flows downward. The shape of the ceramic saddle ring is between the ring and the saddle, so it has the advantages of both. This structure is conducive to liquid distribution and increasing the gas channel.
In summary, the plastic saddle ring has the characteristics of large porosity, low pressure drop and mass transfer unit height, high flooding point, sufficient gas-liquid contact, small specific gravity, high mass transfer efficiency, low pressure drop, large flux, high efficiency, large load elasticity, and good anti-fouling.
Application of plastic saddle ring:
Plastic saddle ring packing has high density and excellent acid and heat resistance, and can resist corrosion from various inorganic acids, organic acids and organic solvents except hydrofluoric acid.
Plastic saddle ring packing can be used in drying towers, absorption towers, cooling towers, washing towers, regeneration towers and other packing towers in the petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, chlorine alkali, coal gas, environmental protection and other industries.
