Wire mesh packing is the main form of mesh corrugated packing, which is made of metal wire mesh. Wire mesh packing is a high-efficiency packing widely used at home and abroad. It is a disc-shaped regular packing composed of vertically arranged corrugated mesh sheets. The corrugation peak height and the inclination angle of the tower axis are 45o and 30o, and are divided into two types: CY and BX.
Features of wire mesh packing:
Wire mesh packing has a compact structure, low resistance, high mass transfer efficiency, large processing capacity, and large specific surface area. The disadvantage of wire mesh packing is that it is not suitable for processing materials with high viscosity, easy polymerization or suspended matter, and it is difficult to load and unload and clean up, and the cost is high.
Wire mesh packing has the following characteristics:
1. High theoretical plate number, large flux, and reduced pressure;
2. Good low-load performance, the theoretical plate number increases with the reduction of gas load, and there is almost no low-load limit;
3. Large operating flexibility; 4. The amplification effect is not obvious; 5. It can meet the requirements of precision, large-scale, and high-vacuum distillation equipment.
Application of wire mesh packing:
Wire mesh packing has low pressure drop and high separation efficiency, which is particularly suitable for precision distillation, vacuum distillation equipment and distillation separation of high-purity products, and provides an effective means for the distillation of difficult-to-separate systems and heat-sensitive systems. Despite its high cost, it is still widely used due to its excellent performance.
X-250: Precision distillation with high production intensity and low number of theoretical plates;
X-500: Vacuum distillation of heat-sensitive and difficult-to-separate special systems, especially vacuum distillation with a pressure of less than 7KPa.
Y-700: Separation of isotope mixtures and isomeric mixtures
